Bug Fixes
  • The IDL Interpreter no longer grabs and uses an IDL floating license on application start-up. Initialization of the IDL license is deferred until first use. This restores the behavior that was present in 1.1.0 and earlier versions of this extensions. (EXTRAS-158)
  • The legacy wizard item to execute IDL scripts has been removed. Both new and existing wizards should use the Run Interpreter Commands wizard item instead. (EXTRAS-21)
Known Issues
  • The IDL scripting extension will not work with a default 64-bit install of IDL 6.4, IDL 7.0, IDL 7.1 on Windows. This is because of a problem with improperly built dlls in the those IDL installations. There are three dlls MesaGL6_2.dll, MesaGLU6_2.dll, osmesa6_2.dll that are missing the required manifest entries. You can download patched versions of these dlls from http://opticks.org/downloads/ivy-repo/opticks/idl64/1.0.0/idl64-win64-release.tar.bz2, they are located at _bin\idl-patches6.4_ in the archive. These patched dlls are sufficient to fix the problem for IDL 6.4, IDL 7.0 and IDL 7.0 if you copy them over the dlls in your _C:\Program Files\ITT\IDL[version]\bin.x86_x64_ folder.
Supported Opticks Versions
  • This extension is supported in any version of Opticks 4.6.X that is Opticks 4.6.0rc1 or later.
