This extension requires a licensed copy of IDL from ITT Visual Information Systems be installed on your system.

This extension currently supports IDL 6.1, 6.3 and 6.4. Support for IDL 7.0 and 7.1 is included with version 1.0.2 or later of this extension.

Installing this Extension

1. Make sure you've download and installed Opticks.
2. Install the extension into Opticks. If you need, you can learn how to install extensions.
3. Configure this extension to use your IDL installation.
   1. Go to "Tools\Options..." once Opticks is started and then find "Scripting\IDL" on the left-hand side of the "Options" dialog.
   2. Browse to the location of the "idl.dll" and then select the version of IDL that you have installed.

Getting Started

• Open up the "Scripting Window" in Opticks and find the "IDL" tab. Start writing some IDL code.
• You can find help on the Opticks specific functions available in IDL by reading the bundled help. It is available from the "Help" menu on the Opticks main menu.
