Installing this Extension

  1. Make sure you've download and installed Opticks.
  2. Make sure you have a copy of Python installed.
  3. Install the extension into Opticks. If you need, you can learn how to install extensions.

Getting Started

  • Open up the "Scripting Window" in Opticks and find the "Python" tab. Start writing some Python code.
  • If you cannot find the "Python" tab in the "Scripting Window" that might be because the extension could not locate your existing installation of Python. In this case, go to "Scripting\Python" in the "Tools\Options..." dialog and set the directory where you Python install is located. Once you have set the location of your Python install, you will need to restart Opticks.
  • Help on the extension is available in the Python opticks module which can be accessed by typing:

    or by looking in $OPTICKS_HOME/SupportFiles/site-packages at the .py source files. Further help on the SimpleAPI interface is available in the Opticks SDK help documentation under the Simple datacentric API module
